If I Were a Boy

Grandpa sweater. A must.

Lucky kid. Mom knows how to dress.

Such a light, summery outfit. Seersuckers!

I HEART leather jackets.

Love the way he wears his scarf.

Classically Stylish. Bravo Grandpa!

There you have it. My wardrobe....If I Were A Boy. I admit. You can find some of these in my wardrobe. Guys beware. I will raid your closet :) Gracias.

The Heart Of Life is Good

I hate to see you cry
Lying there in that position
There's things you need to hear
So turn off your tears and listen

Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
No, it won't all go the way it should
But I know the heart of life is good

You know it's nothing new
Bad news never had good timing
Then the circle of your friends
Will defend the silver lining

Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
No, it won't all go the way it should
But I know the heart of life is good

Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
Fear is a friend who's misunderstood
But I know the heart of life is good

I know it's good   -    John Mayer

Let's all be thankful for everything we've been given. No matter the circumstances. This song thoroughly expresses my message for this Thanksgiving season. I'm so fortunate to have the best family and friends a girl could have. I love you all and thank each and everyone of you for being in my life and making me realize that the Heart of Life is good and to enjoy The Little Things Too. So enjoy and have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Let's eat folks!!!

Music Therapy

Who needs a therapist when there's music?  Music is a HUGE part of my life. I had a brief stint with violin in the third grade and played the piano for a couple of years and even competed. Oh and can't forget my handbell. Yes, you heard right. Handbells. I'm so grateful that my parents allowed me to take lessons and love and appreciate music even more. So, it's only natural that I have a certain inclination to use music as an expression. Here are a couple of musicians I think are innovative and not scared to stick out in the sometimes very predictable music industry. Music should not only provide you with fun times but also as a means to open your eyes to something new.  Here are the artists that's constantly playing on my Ipod especially during my drive to work. Some old, some new. All goodies.

Janelle Monae - The ArchAndroid

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Mark Ronson - Record Collection

MY FAVORITE BAND...The Killers

Robyn - Body Talk Pt.1 and Pt. 2

Cee Lo - The Lady Killer. I've been listening to this song quite a bit. Makes me happy. Here's a link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc0mxOXbWIU

Berry, Berry Nice

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2010

Mulberry Fall 2010

Two of my favorite designers of the moment. Just so happens they are both British. I love the toughness of Burberry and it's luscious shearling coats and of course, their thigh high boots!! Mulberry on the other hand has that quirky, feminine feel which I think is right on. Their bags are to die for as well. Mulberry recently released a a line of their very affordable bags with Target. I hope you all had a chance to grab some from Target. Their handbags start from about $600 and can go up to to infinity. The Mulberry for Target only goes up to $50. Here are the two I risked my life for. Run to your nearest Target gals. Their might still be some left. Guys, they are perfect holiday gifts. Affordable too. :)

Zombies. Oh My.

Hello. My name is Pia and I'm addicted to anything that has to do with zombies. I don't know what it is but just the thought of something half dead and just so morbid looking makes me really excited. When most people are down and want to lift up their spirits, they watch movies/tv shows that are feel good like comedies and romance. Not me. I want to watch people getting attacked by zombies and then mutilated. I know right. WTFudge!! My older brother used to make me watch a lot of horror movies when we were younger. We particularly favored zombie flicks of the 80's. I'm going to admit, I did the same to my lil bro. Lots of quality horror time with him. I guess I'm not your typical girl but hey, at least you can count on me to fight and kill zombies.  Here are a just some of my newer favorites (Walking Dead!!) and some very nice zombie pix. Don't judge :) jk. Go ahead!

My next book to read!!!

I'm sorry if I frightened some of you. I'll go back to fashion and food posts soon. Sweet dreams!

I HEART scarves.

The only reason why I love the Fall/Winter Season. Scarves!!! You don't have to worry about buying a  new shirt or sweater. Just make sure you have a bold scarf. They're so inexpensive too! I bought this leopard/cow-like patterned scarf from H&M and I'm pretty sure it was less than $10.  Great deal for a great statement piece.  Except for my scarf, everything I wore was black even my bag. FYI, I seem to be favoring black bags with gold details.  See below.

I thought I'd include pics I saw of some VERY huge scarves from Burberry! They're definitely not for real life but beautiful on a runway. I'll take a quarter of each scarf please. Thanks :)

My Domestic Goddess

Meet Nigella Lawson. For most people, they have athletes, fashion designers, actors, and many other celebrities they idolize. Nigella is mine. Since freshman year college, I have been following this lady on the Style Network. This British woman has influenced me so much (of course second to my mother) with my cooking and also with getting in touch with my domestic side. I know, I know. Women and liberation and freedom and all that is great but if you love food, you're gonna wanna cook for yourself and for people you love right? Nigella is also very different to many celebrity chefs. She doesn't care about being messy and making mistakes when cooking. She appreciates it and knows that it's a learning process. I love that! She's real. One thing I'd like to add, she cooks every type of food and takes ideas from other cultures. I'm really glad I discovered her years ago. Here's a little sample of Ms. Lawson and her cooking.  Check out her other cooking videos. You'll be hooked. I promise.

Mexican Scrambled Eggs. I normally don't have chili handy so I just add Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce while eating.  Regular yellow onion is also jut fine instead of spring onions. This is my favorite weekend breakfast because it's delicious and soooo easy to make. Try it!

Style File -Olivia Palermo

I have a certain attraction to menswear. I love baggy pants, stripes, vests, and of course, cannot forget the accessories so nobody mistakes me as a cute gentleman. Oh the horror.  Anyway, Olivia Palermo epitomizes all those for me. She tends to stick with classics and muted colors but adds personality with her bags and jewelry.  She may not be showing loads of skin or wearing every color of the rainbow but that's what I appreciate about her. With fashion, I believe that less is DEFINITELY more.
